Friends of Aldeburgh Library (FOAL)

The Friends of Aldeburgh Library is set up to support our local library via the Aldeburgh Library Foundation, a registered Charity.  Friends pay an annual subscription of £15 for the year from 1st April to 31st March (plus £1 postage). Membership  entitles you to attend free social events, attend and vote at the charity's  AGM each Autumn and a Loyalty Card which allows you a 10% discount in a number of local businesses in Aldeburgh (currently over 40, subject to specified conditions). Subscriptions are used to support Aldeburgh Library and its services

You can collect your new Aldeburgh Loyalty Card from the library on: 
Monday 16 March 10 -12  or  Wednesday 18 March 10-12. You may also pay your membership fee by card at the Library.

The full annual subscription is £15 but if you wish to have your Loyalty Card posted to you it will cost £16 to cover postage etc  The subscription covers the 12 months from April to March. 

If you apply after September the subscription is £10 for the part of the period remaining to 31st March

​Print the form and either take or post to the Library with your subscription. 

​We no longer take online card payment but the form has bank details for BACS (online transfer). You may also pay by card at the Library.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR LOYALTY CARD

  1. Loyalty cards are annual and will be valid until 31 March.
  2. Cards will bear the name of each member and must be signed by each member to be valid. 
  3. A list of participating businesses and organisations will be available on this website. This list will vary from time to time and will explain the terms of use for each business e.g. 10% on Tuesdays only.
  4. Members must present their card to those businesses participating in the scheme in order to benefit from any discount. No card = no discount.
  5. Lost membership cards will be replaced at the cost of £1 to members to cover the print and administration costs.
  6. Aldeburgh Library Foundation and FOAL offer the Loyalty Cards to members in good faith but can accept no liability whatsoever for any failure to provide the discounts advertised.
